I don't know as I don't live with my mom so I can't check. That's one of the first pans she bought to make a birthday cake for my sister's third birthday. Still remember it, the bear in a large rectangular cake carved to look like a wagon full of candy. I think that's the pan she's used most often throughout the years, from teddy bears to babies to dragons to graduation bears.

Thats exactly why i wanted it as i thought it would be well used and could be used for other animals as well as bears. I am still waiting for wilton to get back to me.

Annabakescakes has the pan your mom has and she's posted what it printed on it. I'm convinced mine is a counterfeit

I bought the large and mini Wilton bear pans 2years ago and they look like the bear on the box with the feet that curve outward. I would be upset as well! I have used those pans for a lot of different animals- I used the big bear to make a dragon last year. If Wilton responds back and says this is the new mold design, you can find the original one on eBay. That's where I have purchased most of my vintage character pans in my collection. So sorry this was so disappointing for you!

I've just got my reply from Wilton and I'm speechless.thumbsdown.gif I sent them the same pictures i posted here, of the actual pan i got and the box. Read it for yourselves.

WOW! I would contact someone else! Or bake a cake in it, and contact again. There is no freaking way.... Did you send the wrong picture, somehow?

I would rather make 1 cake for $150, than 3 for $50 each.

The person who works for nothing will always have plenty to do!

I sent them the pictures I had taken which I posted at the start of this thread. I didn't send them the one from their own website LOL.

 

However I am currenty composing a carefully worded reply and i am going to send them their own picture, as they obviously don't know what their own tin, needed to bake the finished cake, in the picture, on their own website and packaging  looks like.

 

I'm sure there are US laws about false advertising and misleading illustration.

 

I will post a copy of the email here after i've sent it.

 

Still speechless or as we say in the UK Gobsmacked!

I have been following this thread without commenting - until you posted this - LOL!!!!!!!!  Magic Pan indeed.

 

I had an issue with Wilton a while ago (bad color) ruined a bucket of Satin Ice.  I sent them a pic of what the color did.  They sent me a new color and 5lbs of Wilton fondant (I don't use).   I called and they said they wouldn't reimburse me for my Satin Ice. 

I agree with Anna.  If possible, Bake the cake and put the cake and the box pic next to each other and contact someone else.

I'm reluctant to bake a cake in it, as the shop have offered me a full refund. ( which i'm sure i won't get if i used it) The girl in the shop agrees with me as i phoned her and she checked the rest of her stock, which are all the same as mine.

 

I don't know if its the shop who are buying counterfeits either knowingly or unknowingly or Wilton who have their stuff made in China under licence and are turning a blind eye to fakes being made and passed off as genuine.

 

If Wilton acknowledged it was a fake and the shop was at fault not them, i would then be happer and more confident to try and buy one from somewhere else.

 

I am reluctant to buy a new one online( following their reply) as most suppliers are just using the wilton website pictures. I'm trying to buy a used one off ebay,( where i can see the picture of the pan!)  but there are not many for sale on ebayin the UK, and the shipping cost from the US are more than the cost of the pan

  2. The bears legs are stubs on my pan and the arms lack definition.
  3. The bottom of the bears tummy is not level with his heels which will result in the bear sitting on cylindrical lump of cake.
There is no way this will look the same as the image on the website once baked.
 
This is supposed to be the Stand Up 3d cuddly bear.

Also attached is the picture of the pan and the box it came in, image(3).jpeg in and it is clearly different.
 
I agree that the picture of the finished bear both on your website and the box my pan came in are the same. However, the actual pan I recieved is different from the picture of the pan on the website and box.
 
If the pan I received is different to the pan on the website and the packaging, I don't see how the finished cake could be the same.
 
Please could you have a closer look at the images.
 
If you are saying I have recieved the correct pan, and this is the pan Wilton are now supplying, then there should be an accurate representation on the website, the packaging and instructions.
 
I bought this pan based on the images on the website and packaging. What I got was something completely different and didn't match either image.
Please could you have another look at the images and perhaps look at your current stock of this item for comparison.
 
I am concerned i have been sold a counterfeit item.

It took me ages to word it tactfully, my first reaction was exactly as yours and did toy with the idea of asking her what mind altering substance she was taking I also thought about using "you cannot be serious!"   a la John McEnroe  But took my time and went for diplomacy not usually my forte

 

I only just managed not to mention the PILE!

This is terrible! I would take it back. If you want I would be happy to try to find you one, I have has a lot of luck looking in antique stores and thrift stores finding Wilton pans as well. Any idea how much shipping from Knoxville, Tennessee to you would be? I would like to help you! I wou,d send you mine but I'm really attached to it :0) or if someone on here isn't using theirs? I will totally open any pan in a box from now on!
