Based on a Faye Cahill design, but changed up. Lots of silver leaf and shaped dragees. Love the silver, charcoal grey and red combo. The cake sat on a cocktail tray to fit with the couple's speakeasy theme.
Lots of techniques on this one, from ombre ruffles to silver leaf to stenciling... I wish the photo quality were better. Can't wait to see the pro shots.

Bible cake had to be antiqued, so I painted illuminated (gold) letters on the cake. Too bad they don't show up as gold in the photo as they did in person. Lots of techniques used, including airbrushing, hand painting, calligraphy, dusting, etc.

Not my most beautiful cake ever, but one based on a VERY popular young adult novel and soon to be released movie called "The Fault In Our Stars". (It is a bittersweet romance/tearjerker). This cake was made for a bat mitzvah celebration and Chloe loved the book so much she used its iconic cover as a theme. The cake is two cubes, one over the other, with the top cube a little bit bigger to allow the black cloud to hang down. The candles were for a candle lighting ceremony.

NY Mets themed cake for a passionate fan. Everything is edible - even the cracker jacks box. For those who aren't Met fans, the NY "big apple" pops out of the hat whenever a Met hits a homerun at Citi Field, the Mets home field. Any Met fan would recognize it in an instant.

For my daughter, an elegant but not fussy petite cake. The top tier looks very rounded because it is. She nixed the flower I had planned for the top.

Light up TARDIS and dalek. The TARDIS on left is mostly cake, but there are lights inside behind the windows and on top. The Dalek is made of rice krispie treats and dark modeling chocolate and has hand wired LED lights for the eye and two ears. Everything is gluten and dairy free which made it quite a challenge!
