Brown Bear, Brown Bear First Birthday Cake
The birthday boy's favourite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, so this cake features animals from the book cut out of marbled modelling chocolate. The cake is chocolate praline with whipped chocolate praline filling with a chocolate ganache crumb coat, covered in fondant. On a personal note, this is also my 6-month-old son's favourite book and when I showed him the cake he smiled from ear to ear and tried to grab at it! Since we read this every day can recite it from memory, I made sure to arrange the animals in the same order as the book.

Tropical Flower Cupcakes
These cupcakes were for a bridal shower. The wedding will be a destination wedding, so I tried to go for a tropical type fantasy flower in the shower theme colours. The cupcakes are lemon with raspberry filling and vanilla SMBC. The flowers are modelling chocolate, so much tastier than gum paste!

Cabbage Rose
This is from the Craftsy class Fondant Frills. Maggie Austin says its a cabbage rose, but it doesn't seem similar to the photos of cabbage roses online (which seem to be much more similar to peony's). Regardless I think its a pretty flower! This was made with pink gum paste with pink blossom tint added to the centre for depth and a bit of sparkle.

Ribbon And Flowers Wedding Cake
Wedding cake for my friend's sister inspired by the bride's dress. The forget-me-nots are royal icing with a pearl dragee centre. The topper monogram was made by the bride and I made the fondant base. The ribbon roses and pearls are made from Jennifer Dontz's pearl clay. Considering this was my first fondant cake I'm thrilled with how it turned out. I do need to work on my fondant covering though - the forget me nots are covering quite a few folds and creases!

Styro Test For Forget-Me-Not And Ribbon Rose Wedding Cake
This is my first paid wedding cake and my first fondant cake, so I did a styrofoam test. The design is based on the brides wedding dress which has daisies almost dripping down the bodice, and ribbon roses on the waste. Also took inspiration from the Martha Stewart blossom cascade cake. The "S" is provided by the bride. For the final cake I'm thinking I'll build up the forget-me-nots around the bottom of the S to give a bit more depth (perhaps with a small fondant dome?). I'll also add a lot more drips in an assymetrical pattern. I'm thinking the top half of the top tier will be covered completely. Any feedback postive/negative on these ideas would be greatly appreciated! The wedding isn't until January.
