Beauty And The Beast
This is a picture of the Beauty and the Beast Cast Party cake we did. The "stained glass window" is made entirely from poured sugar and backlit by LED lights. The base layer is a white cake with a twinkie-style cream filling, the middle layer is a chocolate cake with an oreo cream filling and the top layer is a gluten-free white layer with buttercream filling.

Beauty And The Beast Sugar Window
This masterpiece was completed by my favorite sugar artist, my husband. He dedicated 18 hours working with poured sugar to create this "stained glass window" replication of the stained glass window in the final scene of Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast. My daughter was in her high schools production of Beauty and the Beast and they asked us to do the cake for the cast party. So we put our heads together to come up with some iconic images associated with that movie to incorporate into our cake. Once of those images was the stained glass window that is show as the closing image for this movie. We knew we HAD to do it but didn't know how. After a month of laying awake at night trying to figure out how to make it a reality, not to mentioned some failed attempts, my husband and I both developed a technique that was doable. Eighteen hours later, this "window" was a reality. I can't wait to post images of the cake with this window (backlit of course) incorporated into it.

Beauty And The Beast Cookies
My daughter was in her high school's production of Beauty and the Beast. They asked us if we would be willing to do the cake for the cast party at 600 cookies for a special cast meet-and-greet Tea Party. Of course we accepted. This is a picture of the 3 styles of cookies we chose to do. We did a teapot to represent Mrs. Potts, a teacup decorated to resemble Chip and we re-purposed a tombstone cookie cutter to become the glass dome and stand the the Enchanted Rose is encased in. The cookies are outlined in royal icing and filled in with color flow. Chips face is drawn on with edible marker and the rose is made of fondant with a royal icing stem.
