This was my entry for the Mid-Atlantic Wedding Cake Competiton. First time competing! I've been only doing cakes for a year as a hobby and havent taken any classes as of yet.
For my daughter's first birthday we had Elmo goes to the beach as the theme. Elmo in a floaty and then Nilla wafers that were crushed as the beach. I used gummy tape for the towels and then the drink umbrellas for the sun umbrellas. Their was gummy fish in the "water" with Elmo. The kids went nuts over it!
This was covered with modeling chocolate instead of fondant.
This was made using the Nascar cake pan. Jeff Gordon's premade logo's were no longer available so this was made using gumpaste. Wheels were also out of gumpaste. The entire cake was given a coat of edible laquer to make it shine.
This cake was made for a twelve year old girl named Anna. Dragonfly's were made with gumpaste and wings were made using Isomalt and a handmade silicone mold. Edible glitter was added for sparkle and Isomalt droplets were used for their eyes. Flowers and ladybugs were also gumpaste.
A tank made for a little boys birthday. Cake was vanilla with whipped cream frosting covered in fondant. Army man, cannon, rifle, and treads are gumpaste.
