Chocolate Overdose
This is my first time using WASC recipe. Buttercream icing is Toba Garrett's for the base and a darker buttercream for the decorating. I couldn't get a really good picture. I used a petal pan, but the petals are not real obvious in the photo. It looks better in person! It's a birthday cake for two friends and chocolate was requested. I hope they have milk! *** I changed the photo because the other one was too dark. At least in the box you can see the cake better against the white background.

Chocolate Roses
Decadent chocolate spice cake with a dark chocolate velvet buttercream - both first time recipes. I love the buttercream. It tastes wonderful, crusts quickly, and looks like dark chocolate suede when it's smooth. I had no decorative idea in my head, and, so, of course, roses it is! The bottom is shells with two roses/leaves every so often.

Christmas Cake
This is a chocolate poundcake recipe with ganache icing and buttercream decorations. I've made this recipe twice now and both times it came out of the oven terribly uneven, etc., even with the baking strips. (Not trying this recipe again!) It is for my father and stepmom and they really don't care how it looks, but I do. So I decorated it at the last minute even though I wasn't planning to decorate it at all. I just couldn't stand it!! I don't have the right leaf tip either for holly. :(

Friend's Birthday
This is a yellow cake with ganache/chocolate buttercreme filling covered with chocolate buttercreme icing. The cake and buttercreme recipe are from Toba Garrett's book. This is the most delicious chocolate buttercreme ever! It's a little soft, but........it's worth it. The picture looks like the flowers are pink and yellow, but they are actually peach and pink. The color is a little off. There is no yellow.
