Made this cake for a mad science birthday celebration... the kids did experiments and launched rockets. So fun! I was really pleased with the way my sugar scientist turned out and the birthday boy loved it too!

I made this cake for a birthday party at an art studio. The paintings are replicas of some that are in the studio's gallery. I made gum paste "canvases" and painted on them with food colors! The art box and tube of paint are RKT covered in fondant.

Until I was asked to make this cake, I had no idea what Angry Birds was all about... and I'm still not sure! The good news is that the birthday boy loved his cake, so I guess I managed to capture at least a little of the essence of the game! The wooden pieces are RKT covered in fondant and the cake is iced in buttercream.
Big blue monster was over 12" tall - all cake with buttercream fur. Made this cake for a first birthday celebration - the little orange monster was the smash cake for the birthday boy.
Four tiers covered in rustic textured buttercream and a cascade of sugar flowers. The two pumpkins on top are also sugar. Took me 25 hours to make the flowers, but I was so happy with the results!
Lots of labels for a fashionista's 40th. Everything is edible except the sparkly brooch in the Tiffany's box. That was a button. This was my first attempt at a high heeled shoe and it wasn't as hard as I thought!
