Inspired by the many penguin and igloo cakes on Cakecentral. I had limited time to throw this together, so only 4 penguins live at this igloo. WASC cake with cherry-cheesecake filling, white buttercream. I wish I'd had more time because the penguins are so much fun to do.
This is just a small (6") cake for my sister-in-law's birthday. It's chocolate with mocha flavoured SMBC filling and chocolate fondant. I took inspiration from several cakes here that were modelled after a Peggy Porschen design. My roses need work!
This was made for a friend who retired and is planning to travel. She's into vintage luggage as well. Butter cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling. It was an 11X15, cut in half and stacked. Buckles, lock, etc are gumpaste. Vintage decals are edible images. She loved it!
NFSC with fondant and Antonia74's Royal Icing. The fondant was sprayed with Pearl Lustre Dust and it gave the cookies a really nice subtle sparkle, but it's hard to tell from the picture.
Chocolate cupcakes for a fall themed wedding.
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate - cake, buttercream filling and fondant. Bride is having a reception (wedding has already taken place) with a fall theme. Sunflowers are gumpaste/fondant. Leaves are edible ink on wafer paper. All sprayed lightly with bronze lustre dust.
Strawberry cake with Cotton Candy flavoured buttercream. Horses, platform and carousel topper are made from candy melts.
Edible image on rolled fondant atop a sugar cookie. Royal Icing around the edges.
I did this 55th Anniversary cake for my parents. Chocolate WASC with Raspberry buttercream icing and filling, chocolate fondant on top. The images were wedding picture, engagement pictures, as well as previous 'significant' anniversaries). The images were put on plaques and then placed all around the cake. They loved it!

I made this for my son's birthday. He is taking Petroleum Engineering at University, so this was his request. (Actually, he requested a little pump that would pump chocolate out of the top to represent the oil, but it seemed like that could end up being messy!) He was still happy with this. Stacked vanilla and marble cakes, then carved. Vanilla buttercream icing. The derrick is grey fondant brushed with silver lustre dust and the 'oil' is black fondant.

Made for my step-son who does hardscape landscaping for a living. Chocolate cake with Raspberry Chocolate Chip filling. Covered in fondant. Trees are royal icing, burlap ball is gumpaste. Rocks, shovel, pallet and turtle are fondant/gumpaste. Waterfall is fondant covered with piping gel. Dirt by shovel is just cake crumbs.
