This is Hannah Montana's electric guitar from the show (apparantly). My 2nd commisioned cake :) The guitar is slightly carved into the cake, though you can't really see that in the photo, and I did so to give it a little dimension. All bc, chocolate cake, with a pastry cream mixed with dulce de leche.
This cake was a test cake for the weekend (confetti). I took inspriation from my son's Diego t-shirt that I dressed him in today, that has argyle in a line across the front. I thought I would make the entire cake in a blue theme to make it boy-ish (since the hubby has to take it to work for break or lunch time) The lettering is freehand, as are the scrolls around it. Entirely BC iced. I had alot of fun with this, and I thank my little boy's clothes! Inspiration is all around us!`
Another 'just for fun' cake during my off time. It's going to my moms work. I almost stopped this cake before doing the horizontal lines since the verticals alone looks so cool (took a pic to keep in my mind in the future). Just learning to make roses, so I thought, what the heck, just do a ton of them on one cake. WASC cake (first time using a doctored mix.. man I felt like I was cheating... need to get that one out of my head!) and BC iced, filled with a caramel filling (1st time for that too)
Made this to practice with some skills I've yet to learn. I've 3 weeks off, so I've opted to make cakes for most of my family haha. This one is for my sister. Devils food cake, 3 cakes torted twice each, and used 5 layers of torted cake (one had an accident and is becoming cake balls). Cover with choco BC, and melted wafer scrolls. Inspired by a wilton design.
