Fishing Boat Birthday Cake
8 inch round chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. Rolled buttercream boat and gumpaste figure (my first ever). Trees are gumpaste over small straws. Motor is also gumpaste. Water is piping gel colored blue and the "fishing jugs" are tic tacs. This is for my grandfather who likes to go trot line fishing. The tic tacs represent the pool noodles that he uses for the fishing.

Bride Groom Serving Wedding Cake
This is a 6 inch wedding cake made for the bride and groom to share on their honeymoon. When looking for something for the top someone suggested a monogram like one Toba Garrett has done. Mine (of course) isn't nearly as beautiful as that one. Rolled buttercream, fondant plaque, buttercream accents and gumpaste calla lilies.

Road Kill Opossum
I made this cake for my son's birthday. He had to have it after seeing waterfallsoygurl's cake. I also looked at the other road kill cakes on cc for inspiration. It did not turn out as well as any of the others. I did not have the time I wanted to spend on it so it suffered in the process. buttercream fur using grass tip. MMF tail, feet and head.

Linus From Peanuts
This is alot of firsts for me . First time with a carved cake, first time using rolled buttercream, first time making large gumpaste figures. The rolled buttercream was yummy but difficult to work with as you can see. The arms are gumpaste, the head is ricekrispie treats, the blanket is 50/50 gumpast fondant. The stripes and facial features are air dried buttercream and the hair is wire. His head shape didn't quite work right. This cake is for my brother and its certainly not perfect but good practice
