Green With Pink Ribbon
6/8/10/14 squares, all BC with pink ribbon applied. Toppers are special ones made by bride and groom who are really into running (topper is joggers). Cakes are set flush in the far back corner ... there is a photo from the back view on my Flickr site to show the "flush" side of the cake. Please check that out also ... the Flickr pic also shows how the cake colors really matched the room decor!! Gorgeous, if I say so myself!

Dog Lovers' Cake
This cake is for the bride who had the DogBone Cookies as her favors (in my pics). 14/10/6 ... bride got more cake than she paid for because I baked the wrong bottom tier ... it was suppose to be 6/10/12. All BC. Ribbon and silk florals added by me at reception site, after assembly. Scrolls colored with Silver Luster Dust mixed with vodka, then just mixed in the BC. Navy blue dots on the border.

Dogbone Cookie
Bride and groom are big dog lovers, so they had dogbone shaped cookies as their favors for their guests. The flip side of the tag told guests that a donation had been made to the ASPECA in the guests' honor. These were only about 2-1/2" long ... took me an hour to bag-n-tag 'em for the bride.

Adaggio's Cake - Harmon
6/8/10/12 squares, all BC, navy blue ribbon with silk roses provided by bride over a fountain. When I set this up, the facility person said, "A fountain? We dont' get many of those!" hahaha! Quilted the bottom tier using skewer sticks, with silver dragees. Silver dragees also scattered on the top tier basketweave.

Mellie's Cake
14S/10R/6R, all BC with silk florals provided by bride. Chantilly lace on bottom tier, scrolls with silver dragees on middle tier, silver dragees on top tier. Serves approx 150. After pics were taken, the topper toppled down the front, taking some border with it...nothing major and it was all fixable. So glad I was also doing the catering and was there to fix it before the bride got there!

50Th Anniv
8" round, all BC with gold foil leaves and strand of pearls circling the base 3 times. Client saw a wedding cake in a 2003 wilton book and wanted the top tier for her parents 50th anniv. Gotta say, it was SO MUCH FUN to do "real" decorating for a change .... stringwork and BC roses and big border .. oh my! Much more fun than "ice it and slap a ribbon on the base" that is so popular today at weddings. Orange cake with my Dreamsicle icing filling.

Ladybug And Bear Cupcakes
Played around with making cupcakes the other day. Ladybug and Teddy Bear. Icing is a glaze made with melted white chocolate, whipping cream and butter. Cupcakes are fillied with red raspberry sleeved filling and choc ganache, respectively. I know they're not up to the par of many of the cupcakes i see on here, but there were fun ... even if they did take me almost forever!

Strawberry Shortcake 2
My 2nd strawberry shortcake wedding cake w/ the improvements I said I'd do if I ever got to do this one again, like pretty little scrolls on the tort-lines to pretty up the cake sides; instead of just throwing the berries on the time, I arranged them a bit so the leave parts were all pointing out toward the outer edge ... just a few little touches. Strawberry glaze was provided on the side for guests to add to the cake/berries if they wanted. Critiques and comparisons (to the first one) are welcome!!

Margarita Birthday
18x24 sheet ... 1/2 lemon 1/2 white, torted and filled with sleeved strawberry filling. 4 friends celebrating their 40th birthday. One didn't want her name on the cake, so another friend snuck (sneaked?) back into the shop and I wrote "...and Brenda" on the side of the cake!! They wanted a Jamaican, beachy, margarita theme. This cake was going to Chicago for the party!

Rubber Ducky
Another "Debi Does Fondant" piece of work! Only the cap, though! A friend asked if I would make this cake for a baby shower ... she had the pan and loaned it to me. Got some Satin Ice and had to color it (my gosh how do you guys color big batches of fondants for wedding cakes!!). I'm amazed the ruffle on the cap came out as well as it did!

Morgan Wedding
12/8/6, all BC;florals provided by bride. This was a neat one. Mom of bride lives in Kansas, found me via the internet and ordered the cake in one phone call. She popped in while I was setting it up and luv'd it! She had made a "gramma's recipe" small side cake, which I decorated with flowers for her (to cover the kitchen plate she had the cake on!). Pic of gramma's-recipe cake is on my Flickr site. The kudos I got on this simple cake from mom and the photographer will feed my ego for a few days!)

Cougar Grad Cake
FBCT of the school logo for the son of a friend of mine. All BC. 11x15, 1/2 white 1/2 choc. Pic by grad's mom, who is a professional photographer. She said her dad had already cut the cake with dental floss before she could get a pic .... so that's what those fine lines are on the cake surface! She said everyone loved the cake and kept asking her where she got it! (yay!!)

Trav's Wedding
14/10/8, iced in BC with white ribbon base and royal blue ribbon top decor; dots on all 3 tiers. This was my wedding gift to my nephew who was one of the 6-7-08 weddings. I find putting those teeny tiny ribbons on are more difficult that putting on a larger ribbon! I need to work on getting them more even!!! The bows were made separately then attached with a blop of BC s glue.

Red Roses
10/8/6 tiers on acrylic stands. Forgive the background ... it was an open house reception at bride and groom's home. So many brides use silk/real florals these days, it was fun and refreshing to be able to make BC roses! For the first time, I tried making the roses on a stick ... AND I LUV'D IT!!! Roses are bigger and fuller with this method. I'm putting a close-up of the cakes on my flickr site in a few minutes, if you want to see rose detail.

6/8/10/12 tiers (serves 172). All BC w/ silk florals. 4 flavors: from top to bottom, Banana cake with banana filling; banana cake with choc bavarian filling; choc cake with banana filling; and white cake with choc bavarian filling. This was modeled out of a prev cake I had done (New YEar's Eve cake). Bride's uncle was the Fire Marshall who inspected my shop and came back in to get my card for his niece's wedding cake!!

City Skyline
Bride was an engineer and gave me a CAD-template for the skylines (YAY!). The C.Peters skyline cake inspired this one. Skylines were cut out of chocolate with an exacto knife. Bride wanted all black bldgs (used dark milk choc then the Wilton black spray icing to darken it more). with her green florals (added by me after cake assembly. Tiered cake sitting on two glass block for "floating" look. Satellites are four 8" squares, tiered is 14/10/6.

Marissa's Shower
This was put together pretty quick when I was really tiered, as evidenced by me forgetting to put foil on the board!! (How do you forget that??) I had just seen one of Thanh's cakes with the lines on the corners, so I took that design idea for this one. Used my spray pearl luster dust and spray gold dust for the first time on the flowers. WOW! LUV this stuff! Silver dragees accents on the cake and flowers. THe silver borders beads are not edible. Not putting this one in my portfolio!

Gdaisies
3 tier, 6/8/12, iced/decorated in BC. Design was taken from a photo in a magz the bride brought, so I've no idea who may have inspired this. Silk daisies provided by bride and I added them when I dropped off the cake. Delivered all assembled! Even tho' I've done a few like this now, I'm always still amazed when it really works! Thanks, fellow CC'ers!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake
A simple dessert cake. 8" choc cake with choc-raspberry filling, iced in choc fudge icing, topped with choc covered strawberries and drizzled with white chocolate. Ieft the sides unsmooth intentionally to give it a casual look (although that line just keeps staring back at me as if to say "FIX ME!!") The top border was made when I smoothed the sides ... icing pushed up onto the top and I liked the edging so I left it that way.
