Bouche De Noel
So a not so pleasant woman called me the other day asking if we made Bouche de noel. I said âyou bet we do!â Her completely tactless response led me to create this cake for display in my shop. She said âUmm yeah I know you do, but I seriously doubt youâd be able to make on that actually looks like a logâ. I of course laughed hysterically and invited her to come in the shop and see our display bouche de noel to see if it would satisfy her expectations. As soon as I hung up I dove in and made this thing. So anyway here it is my sweet revenge Bouche de noel. It took me about an hour to create. It is rice crispy (as it is for display) covered in royal icing (I use ganache for the ârealâ ones). The ends are fondant that were scored with a fork to create the lines then dusted with some nutkin brown dust. The holly berries and leaves are fondant and the mushrooms are meringue dusted with coca. The board was covered in green fondant, then I piped in moss and snow. I then sprinkled lightly with edible glitter and dusted liberally with powdered sugar. Sure looks like a log to me. Thanks for looking!

It's A Snowman Picnic!!
What fun, a snowman picnic! This fun cake is a collaborative effort of my self and my amazing head chef. The trees are sugar cones with piped royal icing. Everything else is fondant. We have the âdaddyâ snowman preparing to pelt his son on the ladder with snowballs. The daughter is gracefully ice skating on a lovely pond in a beautiful gown with a snowball tiara. Next to our son is a picnic blanket with a basket of goodies and some steaming hot cocoa. Grandpa has lost his hat flying down the hill on his toboggan. Finally we have another snowman who decided to stay in his cozy igloo and watch the snowman weather casters on the tube. We hope you love this as much as we did making it.

Winter Romance
I am really pleased with this cake. It is a yellow cake with chocolate mousse, and mocha fillings. The sizes are 12, 8 & 4. It is covered in white fondant and piped purple royal icing with silver dragees. The snowflakes I made using fondant and a silicone mold. The drum board is covered in white fondant then covered again with royal icing snowflakes, and the edge is covered in satin ribbon. Then I dusted the whole thing down liberally with pearl dust. Thanks for looking!

Booootiful Abode
So this is my very first house cake so why not make it a haunted house right? This is a chocolate suicide cake of course. Covered in fondant. The tree is gumpaste burnt a la duff style until âit smells like burningâ. You canât really see them in this pic but the red things on the side are actually withes feet in red shoes with edible glitter and black and white stockings sticking out from under the house (that was my right hand gal and head chefâs idea, she is just the best!). All accents aside from the tree are fondant. My resident spooky ghost is just peeking out of the window hoping that youâll think his house is booootiful. Thanks for looking!

A Wedding At O
This cake I did today. It was a simple yellow cake with vanilla bc. I just loved the design of this cake and really had fun putting it together. It is coved in ivory fondant with fondant accents and bc piping, and a satin ribbon. The drum board is covered in ivory fondant and adorned with fondant leaves wrapped in a satin ribbon. I also have a pic with the topper but I did not care for the style the bride chose (it was a joke topper) so the pic I wanted to post here is sans topper. Thanks for looking!

Cape Baby Shower
This cake was inspired by the many baby clothes line cakes I have seen on this site. So thank you to all the members who have done one and posted their pic. I just thought they all were adorable so I talked a client into ordering one for a shower she was throwing for a friend. The cake it self is a 12 inch round butter almond with a rasp filling, covered in a white fondant with fondant accents. The booties are made from gum paste. The piping is done in RI. The cookie favors that surround the cake are covered in RIâ¦tried to talk them into BC but they wanted the shininess of the RI. They are a bottle, rattle, carriage, and a rocking horse. Thanks so much for looking!!

Church Landing
Gosh itâs been so long that I have posted a cake pic up I donât even remember the specifics of this cake. I did this cake about a month ago and it was really a fun easy elegant design. The bride wanted impressions of berries on stems in the fondant to match her fall floral arrangements. So thatâs what I did. I believe the cake was pumpkin spice with spiced cream cheese filling but I might be wrong and am way to lazy to go down into the shop to checkâ¦lol The topper is made from gumpaste and painted with gold luster dust and the fondant is ivory. Thanks for looking!

Quinebarge Wedding
This cake turned out so pretty. It is a butter almond cake with choc, rasp, choc filling. It is iced in IMBC, then adorned with fresh flowers. The wedding was at an old camp for disadvantaged children and they really did a wonderful job making the mess hall just beautiful. I am really love how this cake turned out. Thanks for looking!

60Th Birthday
This is a butter almond cake with raspberry filling for a womans 60th birthday. She wanted something fun and different. We were told that she adores pink and butterflies so this is what I came up with. The all accents are fondant, it is adorned with silver dragees, and the butterflies are royal icing, and color flow. Thanks for looking!!

Meadowbrook Donation
This cake and its subsequent pastry trays and gift basket (see other pic) were a donation to a fund raising auction for a local Performing Arts Foundation, set up by a large concert venue in this area. This donation was a huge boost for my shop as it was mentioned on a highly listened to local radio station a few times, as well as getting a write up in 3 local newspapers. There were quite a few big name people at this event and all of them got my menu, so that was really exciting. The cake is chocolate with mocha filling, crumb coating in IMBC and covered in fondant. The piping was done in RI. The music sheet for Ode to Joy is actually copied verbatim so a pianist could actually play the song from my cakewell except for a few notes that I took creative license with because it looked better. This was a fun cake to do for many reasons. Thanks for looking!!

Square White On Ivory
This was a cute little cake. It posed a few challenges because the groom is allergic to gluten, dairy, and eggs!! I ended up doing a lemon cake using soy flour, soy mayo, and noooooooo dairy. It is filled with a blueberry filling and iced in Crisco BC, covered in ivory fondant with RI piping (I warned the groom not to eat the piping work). It was really fun to do as the couple was so easy going about its design; they just wanted a square cake with the ribbon from her bridesmaids dress on it. Everything else was left to my own design. I really think it came out cute. Thanks for looking.

White On Ivory
Well not my favorite cake but all in all a pretty one. Chocolate, raspberry chocolate, with ivory fondant with white RI piping. I would have loved to see what it looked like with the flowers as I think it would have really brought the cake to life, but the florist got into a car accident on her way to the site and called to say shed be at least and hour late!!! The poor bride probably had to walk down the isle with no flowers. Thanks for looking!

Geneva Wedding
This cake was chocolate cake with alternating layers of chocolate ganache and raspberry. It was covered in ivory fondant with a simple boarder. The flowers were provided by the florist and was supposed to be sunflowerscouldnt help but notice that all the table settings had sunflowers yet the flowers for me were something totally different even though the bride called me 2 days prior to verify that the flowers, sunflowers, would be at the site waiting for me. So I am not sure what happened there but I did the best I could with what I had to work with and I think in the end it came out beautiful. Thanks for looking!

"falling" In Love
This cake was done for a bride who wanted fall leaves to match the ribbons on the cake topper. This topper was special because it was on her grandmothers wedding cake and her mothers wedding cake. Needless to say I was really happy when that special item was out of my shop because it was making me a nervous wreck!! The cake is pumpkin spice with cream cheese filling iced in a stucco finish with IMBC. The leaves are done in gumpaste then each was hand painted with food color. Thanks for looking!

Melting Garden Wedding
Well here it is. It would have been beautiful if it had not been 9,000 degrees in the reception hall. From the time it took me to get it unloaded and go back to get my little onsite repair bucket it did this. Anyway it was a choc cake with choc and rasp filling. The plant pots were inspiried by Pidge's "House of dreams cake" thanks for looking.

This topsey turvey cake was done for a family reunion. The client called and said she wanted something fun in chocolate. She asked for a brown, green and blue cake, so this is what I came up with. Ok so double chocolate cake sprinkled with kahlua, chocolate bc filling, iced in chocolate bc with fondant accents. And of course a couple of duff roses just for fun. Dooney & Burke With A Jimmy Choo Shoe
This cake was for a 15 year old girls birthday party. Ok this was the cake of firsts for me. I have never done a gumpaste shoe before, nor have I ever done a pocket book cake. So the Shore is made totally out of gumpaste (obviously) and is modeled after a picture the client provided, the label was hand written in with food coloring marker. The matching pocket book is also modeled after a picture the client provided. It is a yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling. It is covered in fondant, stamped with gold luster dust. The handles and latches are also out of fondant and the buttons are painted with gold luster dust. I loved doing this cake it was really a lot of fun and the Moms expression was totally worth the work! Thanks for looking!

New England Clam Bake
Ok this is the first bucket type cake I have ever done. It was for a New England style clam bake dinner party. I had some issues with bubbling on the side where the lemon is and am not sure why. It wasnt a blow out per se just a pocket of air that kept developing at that one spot. At any rate, the cake board is covered in white fondant and the red squares are painted with food gel and vodka. The lemon, the corn, the bowl of butter, and the clams are rice cereal treats covered in fondant. The butter on top of the corn is just a glob of fondant, and the melted butter in the bowl is lemon jello. The clams were hand painted with brown and black food gel and vodka after being covered in a light gray colored fondant. The cake it self was a double chocolate cake that had been drizzled with kahlua. Yummy! Thanks for looking.

My First Topsy Turvey
This is my very 1st topsy turvey cake that I did for my BIL who is a helicopter pilot. I am really proud of how it came out, I like the tilt but also this is the smoothest I have ever been able to get BC before. Now I just need to work on crisping my edges. It is a simple yellow cake iced and filled with blue BC. The black and white clouds are color flow and there was supposed to be a helicopter on the top but it did not dry in time. Thank goodness it was for a family member and not for a client. Thanks for looking!

This is a 6 inch cake I made for the excavator who did my parking lot. He gave us a great deal and loves my carrot cake so I had to hook him up. It is carrot with cream chez frosting. I used crushed oreos for the pile of dirt and little choc rocks for emphasis. This cake was really quick and easy to do. Thanks for looking!

Enchanted Forest Birthday Cake
I did this cake for a 4 year olds birthday. The idea came form a cake made by JANEK. Thanks so much Jane for the inspiration. It was frosted in BC . The rocks and stepping stones and fish are candy and the rest is fondant. The cake it self was 1/2 yellow, 1/2 choc with oreo cream cheese filling. The flower fairy was supposed to have ShirleyWs gelatin wings but at 3 am I had to cut a few details out and unfortunately the wings were one of them but I did want to thank her for all of the great info she gave me. I will also post close ups of the unicorn and the fairy if youd like to see them. Thanks so much for looking!

Bike Week Bbq
This cake was made for a BBQ being held during our annual "Bike Week" festival. This was my first color flow cake. There are so many things I wish I had done diffrent with this cake but I think all in all it's not to terribly bad. The frosting is choclate whpped cream and I had a heck of a time getting the color right (which I never did as you can see). The client this cake was for was thrilled with it, so I guess that's all that matters. Thanks for looking!

Gone Camping (Front)
I made this cake for my son's 2nd grade end of the year party. This is the first time I have ever done fondant figures. I really enjoyed making this cake. The figure is his teacher who is an avid camper. It is an 11x15 square, with an 8 inch and 6 inch rounds. The trees are sugar cones with royal icing, the teacher, back pack & blue bird are fondant. The tent is graham cracker glued with royal icing then covered in fondant. The cake it self is a three layer white cake, with white bc frosting. Then covered in green bc, the river is multi hued blue bc piped out with a #12 tip and the tuffs of grass and trees were done with a #233 tip. This cake was completely inspired by Coastiemom and her Gone Hiking cake. Thank you Coastiemom you helped me become a hero in my little mans eyes I will also post pictures of the other sides.
