Fiftieth Birthday
This cake was requested for a lady's 50th Surprise Birthday party. They specifically asked that it be a "butt" cake, with cut-off jean shorts and some 'butt-crack' showing (don't know if you can tell it in the picture). The birthday lady also has a tattoo of a Phoenix on her lower back, and they wanted that on there also. I really enjoyed making this cake.

Rubber Duck Baby Shower
I made this cake for a baby shower with a rubber duck theme; it is a 12 inch round Bride's White cake from the CMD. I made the duck out of MMF. I took inspiration from several different cakes I saw in the galleries here, and also the from the Wilton yearbook. It actually looked better in person, I didn't get a good picture of it.

Jordis 1St Birthday
I made this cake for my niece's 1st birthday. First let me say a huge thank you to pinkbunny for letting me use her cake for inspiration! Her cake is so much better than mine, but I was really pleased with the way mine turned out. And so were her parents! They LOVED it! I did a 8 inch round on top of a 10 inch round, Bride's White Cake from CMD with strawberry filling. The flowers were made with MMF. The smash cake was a 4-inch round. We had a great time watching her dig into it!

Strawberry Shortcake
This cake was made for a little girl's 1st birthday. I Googled Strawberry Shortcake, and printed out a picture of her, then I drew it out to fit the pan I was using (11 x 15). I did a FBCT. I thought I had the wax paper smoothed out, but there turned out to be a 'wrinkle' across the mouth. I also looked through the gallery on here to get ideas for the overall look of the cake. I made a smash-cake for her, it was in the shape of a strawberry, I didn't get the whole thing in the picture...

Key Wedding Groom's Cake
This is the groom's cake that went with the single tier ivory wedding cake. They requested chocolate cake with chocolate covered strawberries. This was my first time using ganache. It was very thick and didn't 'pour' down the sides of the cake as I had wanted, I had to 'help' it go down the sides. I re-heated it some before trying to pour it, but was scared to get it too warm, because I didn't want it to melt the chocolate frosting. It looked very tasty though!!!

Princess 1St Birthday Cake
Thank you so much, kiddiekakes, for allowing me to use your cake as inspiration for this cake. The mom of the little girl absolutely LOVED it!!! She was SO excited! This was for a little girl's 1st birthday and mom wanted Princess! I ended up making it an 8 inch round on top of a 10 inch round. I really enjoyed making this cake! It was my first time to make a royal icing tiara, and I LOVED making it!! Can't wait to make another one! Thank you to all of you that submitted templates in the gallery.

Go Hornets!
Our school had to consolodate with a larger school district 2-3 years ago. They have decided as of yet to keep our school open, but we no longer have a football program (sad!!). If any of our students want to play football, they are bused about 20 miles to the other school. This year we have only 3 boys playing. A good friend's son is one of those. She asked me to make her a dozen football cookies that said 'Go Hornets'. She packaged them and gave each boy 4 cookies the day of their first game this year.

Flowercookies.jpg
Ok, I have really been impressed with all of the cookies I have seen on this site. So I started reading lots and lots of posts about all things cookie, and decided to go for it. I used the No-Fail Sugar Cookies from this site, and Antonia's icing. I look forward to making my 1st cookie bouquet!!

Marlenebday
I got asked to make a birthday cake for a lady that I go to church with. I was told to just do whatever. They really didn't care, just wanted a birthday cake (scary, huh??). But I was really excited to be able to just do whatever. So after LOTS of searching, I found a version of this cake done by lila (who got the idea from Bturpin). Thanks for the inspiration!!

Luke's 16Th
I made this cake for the son of a very good friend of mine for his 16th birthday. We took ideas from a couple of cakes on here that she liked. The bottom two tiers inspiration came from pinkflamingo's 3-tier '06 grad cake; only the '06 was changed to '16'. And the top tier we took inspiration from peacockplace's 18th birthday cake. I made the 16 and the balls out of fondant, everything else was buttercream. And we used the royal blue and lime green from her napkins and plates

Bearbabyshower.jpg
I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. The bear I used is the bear she is using in the nursery. The bear is a FBCT, but when I took it out of the freezer the head and one of the 'paws' fell off!! OMG!!! So I ended up having to free-hand both of them. But then I ended up 'building up' the snout so it would look more 3-D. She loved the cake, so that's all that mattered.
