Hi Judy!!! Standing cakes have an internal structure that are basically the same, as you can see in the photo that as the board of the cake, there's a wood rod in the centre. And if you look closely at the legs with the shoes you can see a PVC pipe that fits on the rod and that is going to support the cardboard with the cake on top.
If you look at the next photos you will see the wood rod from the cake board to the top of the cake.
I really sorry about not having photos of the arms...but I did them with a PVC pipe, just heat it up and bended the way you want, made a hole to fit in the rod and covered with fondant.
I hope this will help!!! If you need more information just let me know. ;)

Hi hilrodz!!
Thank you so much!! Sorry no video. This was really a very basic pictorial that was meant to help people with the Minnie/Mickey features, that's why so many photos of the head. But if you need help with internal structures let me know, maybe I can help. ;)

Hi Ana :) My little girl has asked for a Minnie cake for her birthday and I would love to make one like yours! It is beautiful! May. Just ask how you attached her arms and was her mouth 'piece' and nose made from fondant?
Kind regards,
