Baptism Cake
Taken from a two-tiered Pink Cake Box design...customer requested it in purple, with three tiers instead of two. The design included the monogram to be pretty much the same color as the base color so that's what I did. The original design had cricut cross and monogram...I did a poor job of cutting it out with an exacto knife so went over in in thinned royal to smooth it out.

Diamonds And Pearls
This was requested to have the diamond quilting like the gem magazine cake I did, but edible pearls instead of the non edible gemstones the editor had me use. Had issues with my camera the other day so this picture isn't super clear. Color of the cake is a very light ivory. Her topper had some pearls in it as well, really pretty. Cake is vanilla layered with raspberry preserves and raspberry mousse.

Shoe Mitzvah
This was done to the exact specifications of the young girl...she wanted me to exactly replicate a cake she found online, no changes (not even suggestions I made haha)....and then to replicate the shoe out of gumpaste for the topper. The cupcakes were for the candlelighting, although I was not happy to find out the venue had nothing but dinner sized candles. The cupcakes will be destroyed. Oh well..... And the pink was supposed to be super bright hot pink but the fondant seemed to keep absorbing the color...I even airbrushed the middle tier but by the next day it was back to a medium pink.

Philadelphia Wedding Magazine Cake
This was the cake I did for the Philadelphia Wedding magazine for the fall/winter 2011 issue. This photo is from the magazine, and it is my own cake. The editor tells us what to make and we make it...they added an extra wrap of ribbon in the centers...sometimes they change things as they do the shoot. The weave is an illusion, with short pieces of ribbon tucked into slots I pressed into the fondant. I wasn't happy with this cake when I made it but the way they shot it, it looks okay. It was for a sewing/crafting theme.

Vines And Flowers Wedding
I really don't like doing fondant accents on buttercream iced cakes (too easy to mess up the buttercream finish) and this one was tricky...but I think it turned out okay. She wanted the flowers to be 5" so to save time I purchased 3" ones and added two more rows of petals. It was supposed to be all white but it ended up a bit ivory.

Scrolls
This is a design that is found online and here on CC and I'm sorry I do not have the name of the artist but she's easy to find if you search for "scroll wedding cake" on Google. Anyway my bride wanted the colors changed to grey ribbon and a deep eggplant scrollwork. I was afraid the scrollwork would bleed but it didn't...phew....although it deepened in color just a tad much.

Philly Sports Baby Shower
Cake for a customer for tomorrow....she requested most of the specific gumpaste sports items and the toybox, and the baby in a glove under a blanket and the pepsi bottle....but the pattern of the tiers and some of the other misc toys I just did (sometimes its hard to think of something unique...this is not really unique! haha). Cake is 12" and 8" rounds.

Baby Shower
Did this as a freebie for a shower we are having at our church tomorrow. Didn't quite turn out like I wanted but oh well...I think the ribbon, while it is safari themed, doesn't really match as much as I thought it would. Plus I don't like my big black writing on the front.... Well its been a long week and I didn't want to spend a super amount of time on the cake, so...here it is.... :-)

Celtic Wedding
This is an altered replica of my original design which I did two years ago for a cake competition. I was thrilled that a customer sought me out, from over an hour away, to have me make this cake for them! I am a horrible photo-editor so I may eventually replace this photo with a better one after someone edits it for me, but for now....here it is. The colors are slightly different from my original design. However the original was done in styrofoam and THIS one is all cake! With a built in center pole for transport support.

Bat Mitzvah
Topsy Turvy cake for today for a girl's Bat Mitzvah. They gave me free reign on the design, only wanted it Topsy Turvy and to match the pink and lime decor. A couple weeks ago, though, they sent me samples of the table linens and wanted them incorporated...so the lime and pink tiers with the swirled "rosettes" are a replica of the linens...I added the pearls though. The order also will include 13 cupcakes for the candlelighting, and a 10" kitchen cake for extra servings. The flowers are purchased.

Florida Gator
After disappointing myself with another 3D cake this weekend, I do like how this one came out. Its a surprise Groom's Cake going down to the Union League in Philly. Inside is pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling. The football is RKT. There is no styrofoam in this cake other than a very small wedge I cut to keep the hinged jaw support at a certain angle.

Yet Another Toy Story Cake.
Another Toy Story Cake. Ordered the toys on Ebay for an inflated price. Didn't even get all the ones I should have gotten but did not catch it in time to complain. Customer traveling all the way from Brooklyn, NYC to my Philly area to pick this up....I must be cheaper than NYC cakers????

1970 Chevy Nova Ss 396
This is honestly the last car cake I'm gonna do. Took me forever just to get this mediocre cake done. Paint looks horrible, bumpers are pulling down the front and back (I tried to hide what I could with the photography)....and the fondant is so bubbly and lumpy that is looks like the car went through a hurricane. Very discouraged, hope the customer will like it okay, and do not plan to accept another vehicle cake.

College Graduation
This is for a party for a University of Pennsylvania graduation. Their "theme" for their house was "Oh the Places You'll Go" and the logo they made had their house in a whimsey manner like the Dr. Seuss book. So I used the T-shirt they made, plus some additional U Penn logos they sent me, and came up with this design. I feel like the theme did not *pop* like I intended, and that it turned out a bit too busy. I think maybe fewer logos would have been better. But they seemed to like it!

60Th Birthday
This is one of those cakes that its appeal is only to the client haha. She wanted SO many things incorporated we did the edible image thing again. The top text is just like a BBQ apron the man owns. The middle tier is like the napkins. The bottom tier is all the things he does, has, or is involved with. The top two tiers are lemon cake with vanilla mousse and fresh raspberries, and the bottom tier is lime pound with lime curd mousse.
