Pirate Treasure Map Cake

I made this for my 5 year old nephew's birthday. I used graham crumbs for sand on the sides, and MMF map and banner and shark fins. Frosted in buttercream. I used food color markers for the first time on this, and I LOVE them! So much fun! I took ideas from several cakes on this site, so thanks to everyone!
You did a really nice job. Where did you get the food color markers?
I scored a deal on them in a Halloween cookie kit - marked down 75% off at Target! It came with 6 markers. I think they sell some on this site though.
Too cute! I love the map, makes me want to hunt for treasure.
This is a great cake. My 6 year old would love it!
I love this cake! You said that you used MMF map and banner..what do you mean by that?...Great job!
I used MMF(marshmallow fondant) and rolled it out to make the map and the banner. I painted it with diluted brown food color to make it look old, and rolled the edges. When it dried, I drew on the map. The banner is on the front side, it says Happy Birthday Michael. So, except for the foil on the coins, the entire cake, map and all, is edible. Thanks for looking!
