I got the idea for this cake on this site . . . of course! The top layer is chocolate with strawberry filling and the bottom is white with strawberry filling. The topper is a no-fail sugar cookie cut by hand and decorated in royal icing to match the Mod Mom party ware.
The flowers were a pain in the neck . . . or maybe that is because I was doing them at 2 AM!!! I used a daisy shaped mini cookie cutter, split each petal into two so that each one was narower then pulled out my wilton flower shaping tools and flattened each petal and stuck them in my flower former to dry. (almost forgot, I cut 2 flowers, shaped them and then placed one on top of the other)The center is just a flattened ball of fondant.
