Made this for my Niece who is Fairy mad, it was all plain sponge cake with jam and butter cream as it is a favourite with little ones. All decorations were hand made however ii did have to make the stem of the cake twice as the first time I made it I put the top on as I was excited to see the finished cake, I left it overnight but by morning as the top was so heavy even though I had supports in the cake it had started to crack. Lessons learnt, I made the core again and assembled the cake at the party so to limited the time the top was on the base. Baked the top in a basin then cup in three and filled with jam and butter cream . Everyone lived the cute cake and it tasted good too. Xx
