Fiesta Taco Birthday Cakes

Fiesta Taco Birthday Cakes on Cake Central

When I saw these cakes in the food cake contest, I had to have a FIESTA party for my son's 2nd birthday party just so I could make them. To make them look more real I added texture to the shell. The tedious work paid off. They were a hit! Everyone thought they were actually tacos, not realizing it was the cake. I made a separate one for a plate with a candle in it for the birhtday boy. Thank you to all those who posted theirs and gave instructions and tips!!

Thank you all for your comments. Here are some quick instructions. Basically, the shell is white chocolate with yellow candy melts and crushed oreos. Trace a circle on wax paper and spread melted mixture. Fold over piece of chocolate cake. Hold wax paper tight on top and wait to harden so top does not droop. Icing is chocolate, then white icing for sour cream. Cut up candies for lettuce cheese and tomatoes. For texture spread extra chocolate w/finger over shell until it hardens. I can email specifics.
