This cake caused me sleepless nights trying to come up with a good idea for the theme! I couldn't decide which facet of his life to use as inspiration, so in the end i decided to make cut outs of an activity / important event from each decade of his forty years. I did BMX'ing to represent his preteen years, martial arts for his teens, snowboarding for his twentys and a silhouette of a family to represent my hubby, me and our son. I hope he likes it - his birthday is next week. (The cake is a fruit cake, as we will be camping for his birthday week... in all this rain oh joy!)
