This was a special cake for my son's 8th birthday. Sloss' Furnaces is a historic metal factory in Birmingham, AL. Many men died in the furnaces and it is even said that it is haunted. Ghost Adventures did an episode on Sloss Furnaces and my son saw it. Since then he just loves Sloss Furnace, taking a tour and wanting to find Slag, the evil spirit that haunts Sloss Furnaces. So I thought this would be a great surprise for him. He LOVED it. It was not an easy cake to make as the towers were difficult and the train was too heavy for the icing to hold, but overall i managed to get in the main towers and a haunted tunnel and the water tower on the cake. It was difficult but worth it to see his face!
