5-Tier Stacked Round Cakes
8" white, 10" choc w/mocha buttercream, 12" white w/strawberry mousse, 14" cherry chip w/choc ganache, 16" choc w/PB mousse. Bride chose design from The Knot magazine. Had trouble with delivery! stacked the 14 &16" layers and 8 & 10" layers to deliver/set up in 3 pieces. But the 14" shifted & 16" filling started bulging! Had to repair border right in front. Any advice on how to deliver/set up cakes like this? It had lots of support & had a long dowel in center after cake set up but is there a better way?
I can't offer any suggestions...but I can tell you this is beautiful...I can just barely make out the shift and bulging so I bet it looked alot worse to you than it actually was!!! :)
thanks, lovincake! Some of the worst bulging was in back. Got lucky there!
Would it have been better had you stacked them after you got to the place? I would think that is what might have caused the bulging from the pressure.
