I made this cake for my friends' little girl's 2nd birthday. Fondant w/ buttercream scrolls. I made the tiara with a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste blend. I drove from Seattle to Vancouver, BC with the completed cake and it made it all intact!
Absolutely loooove. How did you make the tiara from 50/50 gumpaste fondant? Can you please give me some direction. I have to make a Tiara cake next week and I'm kind of nervous about the royal icing tiara. This seems more sturdy
I did it very similar to how you would do a royal icing tiara. I printed out one of the templates from here on CC, taped it to the side of a round container (oatmeal I think), then covered with wax paper. I squeezed the fondant/gumpaste through a clay extruder, then built the tiara out of the strands. I used a little gum glue to help stick it to the wax paper. Then I painted it with pearl dust mixed with vodka. Hope that helps.
