This went with the superman cake. And yes!! I forgot to reverse this as well!! I fixed this then put back in the freezer and then put on the cake! But I don't forget that again!! (Well hopefully not for a few times anyway! LOL)
Great job, CharlieinMO, but I really don't know how you did this. The only Cupcake cakes I see are a bunch shoved together that still look ind. Help me understand, please..... Thanks.
Thanks abbey and bulldog! At first I wanted them shaped like the S logo but wouldn't work out. I just played around with them until I liked how they looked then picked each one up and put some icing on the bottom. Then I iced the tops. Not sure if that helps or not???
OK, why does the icing look like a blanket over top of all the cupcakes? Did you ice the bottoms so they wouldn't slide around? Sorry, but this is all new to me.
No problem. Yes I iced the bottoms so they wouldn't move. Some people only ice the ones on the outside. Some tie a ribbon around them. I used the big icing tip # 789 to ice over the tops then spread it out with a spatula. The icing helps hold them in place but I still hold them slightly when spreading the icing out. If you want you can pm me if you have more questions. I'd be happy to help.
Both cakes look great! Don't feel bad I've made the same mistake myself. After hours of piping an intricate transfer realised at the last minute that i forgot to reverse the lettering in it and had to start over!
Hey CharlieinMo...My very first CCC was almost the exact same as this...done back in march for my daughter's 5th birthday. Your CCC looks so awesome and so does the design. I love the blue color you chose. GREAT JOB
