This was a cake I made for my daughter for her sixth birthday. My first attempt at using fondant. Also my first attempt making a cake with my three-year-old son. He particularly enjoyed rolling out the fondant and cutting out the shapes. My idea for the cake was to make flowers and butterflies, but as my son was going through the shapes, he also thought my daughter would like a pony and a hippo on the cake as well. The pony is on top. The hippo wound up on the side. And he was right. My daughter loved it.
