Hey I was just wondering if any of you in or near the Seattle area could tell me of any cake stores you might visit. I will be there for a week starting next week and would like to get my shop on Thanks!

I have met Dawn of the site below at a cake show this past April. She is a very nice lady and very informative. The shop is adjacent to her home. She is located in Lynnwood WA which is about 1 hour North of Seattle. She also teaches classesâ everyday. If there is something that you canât find, just ask and sheâll help. http://www.dawnscrafthouse.com/
I will get to her place some day soon.
I have been to this shop. A very cute place run by a very nice lady named Greil. Her mom used to own it until she passed away. It may look cluttered but it is very âoooo and aaww--I wantâ when you start looking at all the stuff. It is outside of Seattle (North-East). If you google the addresses, it will show you where they are at. It is in a neighborhood/commercial area. I found it right away because of the hotel we were staying at was about a mile away.
I bought some of the older ACD and Mailbox News magazines, and some AmeriColor student set colors and a few other things I canât remember. I would have like to have brought the store home but it wouldnât fit in my little car. LOL.

Mikeâs Amazing Cakes are also located in Redmond WA. Heâs the one who has been on Cake Challenges on the Food Network. I ran out of time and could not visit his cake shop. There is a cute cake shop in Tacoma, in the green Freight House Square Bldg. http://www.celebritycakestudio.com/ . I stopped in and looked at the cakes and got some slices to go. Yum!
Have fun visiting us in the Pacific Northwest!

not sure if you're into cookies but if you are you'll have to visit this shop in Ballard, just 2 miles north of down town

it's awesome

thanks to both of you. Ironically my in laws live in Lynnwood. I sent an email to dawn last week and got no reply. Is her place just an instruction studio or is there an items for purchase section too? I will definitely hit the one in Seattle, already planned that one. Thanks so much to both of you replying!

There is also one about 10 minutes south of Lynnwood, in the northgate area. I haven't been there in years, but it was one of those crowded small stores that had everything.
Home Decorating Supply Co. Here is what I found on mapquest.

Dawn's is a supply store and instruction studio. You definately want to stop in there.
i have emailed her recently to check if she had an item in stock and she never replied to me either.
You could try calling. When you get there you will feel like you are walking into her house. It's not plainly obvious where to go the first time you are there.
She has a ton of stuff, GP supplies, cutters, chocolate and candy making, fillings, cake stands. Seriously you have got to go there.
The home deco supply place is great too, but closed Sun and Monday.
Dawn's has a cake club too, I haven't been but I am sure they welcome visitor's with open arms, I think it's on the second Tuesday, not sure though.
