Hey there everyone! I'm calling on you to HELP! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
PRETTY PRETTY PWEASSSSE!!!!
I'm doing a 50's themed party for Saturday. I want to do a poodle skirt saddle shoes and records. The problem is this...I've never made fondant shoes and am REALLY nervous about doing that. Also, they want absolutely NO doll sooooooooo Should I use the wonder doll cake mold, cut the cake in half lay it flat on the cake and make the skirt that way? The record, I have that figured out but I just need some ADVICE! Looking forward to hearing back from you all ASAP!
Thank you all Tammy

I can't help you on the shoes, but for the skirt you want to make sure it starts out narrow and fluffs up and out at the bottom. Your idea of using the wonder mold is good, just make sure you pipe some ruffles on the bottom to simulate crenalin ruffles.

That seems like a good idea to use half of the wondermold to do the skirt or you could make one out of fondant. I'm not sure about the shoe. Hopefully someone else can help.

Are the shoes going to be in perspective? If so, then you could probably mold them out of gumpaste or fondant, they would be small in relation to the skirt.

the shoes don't have to be big. Just something to put on the cake like maybe in a corner. I just don't have the first clue as to how I would MOLD it into a shoe! I don't have to make the skirt out of the cake itself it can be all frosting I was just thinking to add a little more to it that would be kind of neat. so whatever you can do to HELP! I would appreciate it!

Try these links unless someone else has better instructions. This at least may give you an idea of how to do the shoe shape.
