How Many Servings Are In An 8 Or 9 Inch Sphere Ball?

Hello My Fellow Cake People!
I need to make a sphere/ball cake to feed 30 people. Do you think an 8 inch ball cake will be enough? Or should I use the 9 inch sphere? Thanks!

According to what I found on the internet, you should make a few cupcakes to go along with your sphere cake.
How many servings is the Wilton ball pan?
The ball pan uses the same amount of batter as a 2-layer 8" cake, so I would go with that serving chart. According to Wilton an 8" round serves 24 - but that is wedding-sized slices. I guarantee you can get at least 16 healthy-sized servings out of it.
