Hi all,

I know this question has been asked, but it seems all the threads are from 8-10 years ago so maybe there have been advancements in airbrushes or new products out there.  I'm  a hobby baker, looking basically for a new toy to play with and something to expand my cake repertoire.  I don't bake a ton so it certainly doesn't need to be an industrial-strength workhorse pounding out 50 cakes a week or anything.  Quality is important to me, though, reliable and user/beginner friendly.  Mostly I do smaller cakes in the 4"-6" range maybe occasionally a 9" or a 2-tier layer cake, but pretty rarely, so something that works on the smaller scale works for me.  I'd appreciate any advice anyone has for an airbrushing wannabe.

I have heard a lot of good things about Dinky Doodle and I know it is reasonably priced.  I have a Masters set, which includes two airbrushes, two paint containers and 12 small bottles of airbrush colors and a rather large compressor.  It works very well, but I bought it on Marketplace at a very deep discount from a lady who had every intention of using it for cakes, but never learned how to use it.  It had never been out of the box and I paid $75.
