Is there a shiny spray out there to make fondant shine. Something that isnt necessarily colored? Say you want to make a cake look like a leather jacket or something...how do you get the shiny look? Thnx again

mix gum arabic with water and brush it on --
you can get it on amazon -- probably from a brick and mortar cake deco store and if you see the right kind of flake type edible glitter at a hobby store or walmart -- read the label, if it says gum arabic you can combine that with water -- same same

Steaming makes fondant shiny for a while, but it does revert to the mat finish after a few hours.
Mix 2 parts Vodka or Lemon Juice with 1 part Light Corn Syrup: Mix well and paint onto cake or decoration
The below article shows how to make glaze from both corn syrup and gum arabic.
