I've wanted a Bosch for sooooooo long! Had KA forever. Well, I finally got the Nutrimill Artiste (almost a Bosch). I'm a little disappointed. This thing is a beast, but all the pieces to wash, it's ackward getting the paddles off and getting all the batter off them, very messy. I've found even with the scraper on, it still doesn't get to all the batter that builds up around core stem. Im hoping I'll get used to it, but all of a sudden that KA with its one little paddle to clean is looking like the winner. anyone else out there that have made the transition?

I've had my eye on a Bosch, too, MamaGeese, mostly because I bake bread frequently. My seven quart KA does a fabulous job, but you know how we always want more toys, lol. Thank you for the review. I will go in the kitchen and give big Merlot a hug.

Oh that's beautiful!! I had the small compact Bosch that was a fantastic little mixer, but too small for large cake batter. I sold it, now wish I hadn't. It was so cute. at one time I had 3 stand mixers and 3 hand mixers, I love them, they're like big ole jewelry to me... Thanks for mixing info, gonna try that. I've always creamed on speed 4, maybe that's my problem.

I’m embarrassed to say, I have to Bosch mixers. Hubby got me my first Bosch, a compact, when my kids were small. Bowl was very small, like MamaGeese, could make large quantities of anything. Then about 20 years ago hubby got me a KA artisan for Christmas. So I gave my Bosch to my daughter. Then when I retired 8 years ago, I bought myself a retirement gift. A large Bosch universal mixer. Was pricey...$600 Canadian. But worth every penny. Two years ago, I bought myself a stainless steel bowl for my Bosch...$100. But worth it to make meringues. My daughter actually gave me back my original compact Bosch, which considering was made in the early 80’s, still is going strong!! It’s boxed up nicely in my basement. I want to sell it, or give away. The compact actually came with a sausage maker, and my husband keeps saying we’ll make homemade sausage. Making the meat for the sausage is the easy part. Hard part is finding the casings to make the sausage!!! Only one company near us, not far from where my daughter lives, about 25 minutes away. We went through the whole winter, no sausage making!!!!! Come next winter, if we don’t make sausage....I’m selling that compact Bosch!!!

MamaGeese, my 7 quart's color is called Merlot, a metal flake dark red. I bought it from a company called Chef's, which is now out of business after many, many years. This color was supposedly exclusive to them and I believe it really was because I've never seen it anywhere else. It is gorgeous. The blue one, called Ice, is a 5 quart Artisan. I use it for frosting and single cake recipes and use the big one for yeast breads, large cake recipes, fondant, and gum paste. I use them about the same amount and love both of them. Oh, I only have two stand mixers and my one KA hand mixer.
June, your Bosch looks awesome and the bowl scraper if brilliant!
It is as dumb as a rock and I will never do it, but I have been giving the Ankarsrum, the ultimate mixer for bread, the eye. It is $700.00, without tax and shipping, and I cannot imagine it would do much or any better than my KA. Besides, how many mixers can you have on your kitchen counter anyway?!

The Nutrimill Artiste is just like the Bosch universal minus the blender and all that. Same bowl, attachments. I got the mixer and all attachments, including scraper for about $140. I watch a lot of the videos on you tube channel, "Amy Learns to Cook". She tries out and reviews all kinds of stand mixers (some I never heard of) it's so informative! That Anksarum is a straight up BEAST! Sandra, You need to watch Amy use that for making bread...you might just pull out that credit card!
Sandra, that merlot mixer looks like a sports car it's so beautiful!

Actually the NutriMill Artiste is BOSCH. Exact same company. Bosch universal mixer is made in Europe. NutriMill is the American affiliate company of Bosch. NutriMill has been making mini grain mills for years and years. I would dearly love a grain mill. But at $239 (American pricing), kinda steep for making your own flour. I do have my VitaMix milling attachment. Haven’t tried anything but wheat berries, which worked well.

Thanks, MamaGeese. I love my big baby Merlot and as much as I would love "the beast", I would not abandon him, lol.
June, where did you find wheat berries? I've always wanted to do sprouted wheat berries, so I could put them in bread? I mean since I was in my 20's I've searched and never found any. I truly forgot that, these days, I can probably order them on line!

I remember receiving an email from Sugar Geeks/Liz Marek with a video review of the NutriMill Artiste mixer. At least a year ago. I have searched high and low for it and cannot find it. It’s like it vanished. Only Liz’s review of the Bosch universal pops up. I do believe that Liz now owns a Bosch universal. Both of these units I am sure were sent to Liz for critique and review.

Ok, I guess I’m feeling officially insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that I know that Liz/Sugar Geeks received a NutriMill Artiste mixer and reviewed. Not sure if Liz purchased the NutriMill Artiste herself, or was given to her by the company. I checked YouTube and Liz’s Sugar Geek show website. Review is no longer there. I honestly do believe that Liz removed the NutriMill Artiste review. Most likely because Liz received the Bosch universal, reviewed, and decided to keep. Competing machines, even tho they are the same company. Weird......

If the world ever gets back to normal, I am going on a quest for wheat berries and other seeds to sprout!

I have this scraper, you pretty much have to use it or stuff gunks up around the center post, but it's so awkward I hate it. Soooo many little pieces to wash with all these nooks and crannies, and you always miss something. Sometimes wish I'd just upgraded my KA. The Nutrimill does make beautiful buttercream though!

MamaGeese I don’t get the gunking up around the centre in my Bosch. It works really well. I do periodically have to stop and scrape bottom of the bowl. That’s why I want to purchase the scrapper attachment. Had it on my Christmas list, but didn’t get it. Since I’m not spending my $$ on anything now, might just treat myself. Are only expenditures are groceries!!
