I just made a simple white glaze for my cherry pie dessert. Tasted it and it has a very strong perfume taste.... checked my bowl the sugar and milk and then the vanilla.....it’s awful! I just bought this vanilla 2 weeks ago. Has anyone had this happen?

I have a big bottle of Wilton clear that I've never used. I opened it and it smelled bad. I went online and found a lot of complaints about Wilton clear. It seems that it has a tendency to oxidize, it's possible that has happened to yours. Does it have a brown tint?

I only use clear, imitation vanilla when absolutely necessary, but Wilton is all I've ever used.  In my opinion, it is not nearly as good as real vanilla, but I've never had it make anything taste bad either, certainly not perfumey.
