Any of you guys aware of or use any affordable climbing wrap alternatives?  Looking at the beeswax stuff, but it’s a little much up front, and they come in some sizes that I’m not likely to use.  I’ve thought about using all foil, but not sure if that would suffice.

Do you guys use cling wrap? What alternatives do you use? Trying to reduce my footprint, and thought this would be a good place to start!

I use plastic containers because the wrap is hard for my fingers and I have a couple of store bought waxy things -- i'm fixing to finally buy the stuff and make some too -- yeah it's kinda pricey to purchase all the stuff and to even purchase them -- want to try to make up sets of those and some other dif things and sell at a pop up store eventually or some little local shop? in a perfect world, with a few other things I can make slowly -- but I buy restaurant leftover containers and use those but not sure about reducing the footprint with those -- I use them for convenience -- they are of course reuseable but of course i'm using more water & soap -- so idk about foot print -- but it works for me --

on my way to the store

Please don’t use foil   It easily gets tiny, tiny holes so it is not “air tight “  besides it is as bad as cling wrap  as far as “carbon footprint “ goes:)  I had someone who worked in the food industry tell me the plastic  bags in grocery stores -the ones you put 3-4 carrots etc in are/MUST be food safe inside & out  so I save them to slip cakes into

I have actually reused some plastic bags in a pinch!  Is aluminum really not any better? I figured it’d be a step up since you can recycle it— or so I thought!

And k8, I would say that reusing plastic counts!

I don’t know how to add a link using my phone but if you go to a site curiousit’s.com under “food” there is a post regarding aluminum foil & how it decomposes , how long etc   Interesting

I know ya'll will think I am nuts, but I recycle both my plastic wrap and aluminum foil.  See all of these chocolate sculptures I make?  Inside their armature is all fleshed out with formerly mentioned used plastic wrap and aluminum foil.  No a pretty site, but it makes my models a whole lot lighter and saves a lot of chocolate AND keeps it out of the land fill!

It’s looking like reusing might end up being the most affordable options at this point!  But reusing is definitely better than just throwing it away!
