I have had a birthday cake request for a marble cake. They want one thick layer though with icing/strawberries on top. Does anyone have a go-to recipe for a marble cake that isn't dry? every-time i have made one they are tasty but need cream or custard with them as they are quite dry. Or is there a way to make it less dry?

Thanks

The “original “ WASC recipe is your perfect choice   To make it marble just remove about 1/2 cup of the yellow batter & add  3-4 Tablespoons Of unsweetened cocoa powder then drop small drops into the batter   Use a fork to lightly swirl  the chocolate batter through   You can find the recipe in the recipe section of this site—Sorry I can’t link it:(

Yes, kakeladi's *Original* WASC recipe is perfect.  I am making a 12" & 8" tiered marbled cake today using her recipes.  Because my cake is large, I am making two full recipes of each, vanilla and chocolate.

the baker's I used to work with made thee best and most stripedy marbled cakes ever -- they literally looked like works of art so finely scrollified all the marbled bits were in a thousand variations -- the orders for them were few and far between but I NEVER had a problem leveling off the tops and 'disposing' of them hahahaha mmmm

Yes, super duper moist and yummy.  Mike and I have been snacking on the trimmings.
