Hi all! I recently have had the struggle of finding a good vanilla cake recipe. I sell my cakes and usually differ from different recipes all the time but some recipes I have found too sweet or don’t fill enough of the cake tins. It works out in the end but I would like to find a good vanilla cake recipe preferably good for carving that could be my go to recipe. Thank you!

Here you go, beloved by the industry for about a million years and created by our own kakeladi!

I honestly believe it is the very best recipe for making sturdy, tasty cakes for stacking and carving, Lynne. It tickles me pink to have met you, the originator of a world famous recipe, which I have been using for many years!

If you're after a 'from scratch' recipe... this is my go to. I always get comments about how lovely and moist it is (moist, heheh, sorry), it stacks well for tiered cakes, is light and fluffy, carves well for sculpted, super easy to make. I've tweaked it a little for my own purposes, but this is the base recipe.
