Are you over thinking this, kristykgs? I've only made one minion and I don't even remember which "blue" I used for his overalls, but I've made blue jeans for my models several times and, as best I remember, I use Royal Blue and mix it to a medium color. After the garment has been applied, I dust it with white petal dust to simulate fading. Remember, jeans come in a million different blues, so it is not critical.

I would use sky blue with a touch of black (americolour gels).

Also as Sandra said, don't stress too much, most people are not going to pick the shade of blue apart.
