Ideas For An Autumn/fall Cake Please :)

Hello lovely people,
I have an autumn cake to make for a 50th wedding anniversary fairly soon. The customer would like the autumn theme as the main feature but a mixture of trains (?!) and sewing (?!) mixed into the theme. Anybody have any ideas? I've done so many sketches and have been playing around with ideas but can't for the life of me come up with something that doesn't make it look completely random. I'd love to do a watercolour painting along the side of the cake, I really wish that autumn was the only theme!
Any ideas gratefully received :)

changing leaves with gold edges for 50 -- i'm seeing the railroad tracks looking like two sewing seams -- like golden stitches -- and for the train the easy profile of a train -- then the falling changing colored leaves edged in gold to fill in all the gaps -- you could put a tree or two and some acorns -
and you could do the train track seams all around the cake if it's tiered let them wind all the way up --
you could even do a little embroidery of flowers & stuff here and there maybe next to the tracks -- in a pile of leaves you could have a spool of thread and a couple needles -- and an engineer's hat and coal and a shovel or whatever -- there could be a sewing machine being transported in one of the train cars

What brilliant ideas, Kate! All I could think of was a painted autumn scene with a train track on the cake board and a 2D train with a few sewing notions on top with autumn leaves.

YES, Yes, yes :) The only thing I can think of is using orange, yellow, green leaves as the boarders like this: https://www.cakecentral.com/gallery/i/1271520/pilgrims-bounty https://www.cakecentral.com/gallery/i/1271471/haystacks
I also loved making autumn leave from airbrushed wafer paper (or frosting sheets).
