According to the wilton serving chart (https://www.wilton.com/cake-serving-guide/cms-baking-serving-guide.html

As I was saying before my reply posted randomly by itself...
A 9x13 sheet cake serves up to 50 people if you cut it "correctly", meaning cut it using a cutting guide. Here is one from wilton (https://www.wilton.com/party-cake-cutting-guide.html) that shows cutting a 9x13 into 45 pieces which would be perfect for your celebration. You could always stretch it a bit more if you need to.

It is easy to figure out servings for a sheet cake :) What size pan are you baking in? When cutting sheet cakes into 2" sqs you divide each side of the pan by 2 ....... so if it's a 9x13 you would get 24 servings, each 2"x2"x2" That's a rather large piece for elderly people so figure the facility will probably cut them smaller - maybe even as much as in 1/2! In order for a 9x13 to serve 48-50 it needs to be 2 layers or 9x13x4.
