Hi! So I came across these tall cake boxes online, for tiered cakes. Hope I can get the pictures to attach!

You place the cake on the base, lift the 'sides' over the top and attach to the base, and then put the lid on top.

Has anyone used these before? Do you know what the base is made of? Do you think it's strong enough to hold a tiered cake? That would be upwards of 15 pounds of think. Is the box secure? The way the sides fit onto the base doesn't look all that tight to me.

Thanks in advance!

so what are the dimensions and how much are they -- it looks pretty well thought out --

but those little bits sticking out on the bottom may or may not be a good idea --

Not those, but I use Caljava's  and they are very sturdy and wonderful.

Well it's about time someone came up with boxes for stacked cakes!  Now that I don't do cakes anymore :)

I hear you ladies! I really don't like giving cakes in packing boxes so I've been tearing my hair out trying to look for something more appealing!

I saw these on alibaba. com and they ship from China. Not the most legitimate sounding, I know, but as someone pointed out to me almost everything we buy is from China anyway lol

It says they cost from $0.15 - $0.25 per piece, but I feel like that's the wholesale price. They do say that they take smaller orders so I've contacted the supplier to get more info.

Dimensions are from 10"×10"×12" to 14"×14"×14".

I think I'm going to order about 30 or so and see how it goes. It'll probably take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive so I'll update you guys then

@inthekitchen2 those are adorable! The shipping would probably knock me out since I'm on the other side of the world, but I have someone flying in from the US next month so he might bring it for me. Can you tell me what kind of packaging they arrive in? Are they folded down flat?

Yes, they are completely flat when shipped.

I use corrugated already made boxes --

I meant the pretty white full sheet boxes -- I just make them to size -- just folded them up to fit the cake -- yes cut and bend to size exactly
