I have a bride that is crazy about Panera Shortbread cookies and wants the decorated wedding cookie favors I'm making to taste like them.

Panera has discontinued the shortbread cookie from their offerings and I've never tasted one.

Panera told me their "decorated" cookies are a shortbread recipe but the bride said they weren't like the decorated ones.

I'm hoping some of you have tasted a Panera shortbread cookies and could tell me how they compare to the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe for flavor/texture.

I googled and found lots of people were into the Panera shortbread and there are copy cake recipes but I can see from the pictures I'd have to eliminate the baking powder because the cookies are too puffy and spread a bit.

Please share whatever you know about Panera shortbread and anything that comes close.  Yes, I have that "doomed" feeling already ;(

i always tell brides that i don't do legends -- how are you seriously gonna match a taste to a person's recollection -- there's no way -- tell her you can make a great cookie --

not only that -- even if you had the exact recipe -- these things can very slightly from region to region and baker to baker too -- because we are all different and some little things in baking can make a distinct difference --

so...just tell her you're only wonder woman on halloween or something -- no can do
