For #1 son when he turned 30, I did a Goodyear tire cake. Label "30 good years". He commented how I even got the tread pattern correct....lol. He is a real car guy.
For #2 sons, I have decided on the stacked dice and stacked poker chips. He LOVES Poker.
Like a PP said, the hobbies really help define a theme. Or, the not too naughty butt cheeks in a bikini bottom. I think it is funny without being too raunchy. And expertly two "halves" to share. ;)
