Can anyone please tell me which settings work for them? I am using the Deep cut blade set to 20, speed 3, thickness 33 on thinly rolled out gum paste. The blade is not giving me a nice clean cut, it crumples up the edges. Have tried from soft gum paste, to letting it sit for a while to dry a bit first, and all stages in between.

I use a Cricut Cake machine using the factory settings.  I have found that using a gum paste or fondant with less than a 1/8" thickness that has been chilled in the freezer until very stiff helps to insure a clean cut.  I am aware that fondant is not recommended, but have had success with it using the freezing method.

Thanks Sandra. I have read all the past posts on this topic, and have tried every tip given. Still no success though - very frustrating :-(

Is a Silhouette Cameo designed to cut gum paste?  I was under the impression that only the Cricut Cake could be used for gum paste or fondant.

No but many cake decorators are successfully using the Cameo to cut gum paste. This one of the earlier discussions on the subject: http://www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/722812/silhouette-without-the-linda-mcclure-accessory-kit

Then I am at a loss.  I've had trouble cutting tiny details, but otherwise had no issues when using the chilled gum paste.

meydenhart:  have you had any success yet?  I too had spent hours with varying settings and never came to anything that worked.  I would like to try again.
