My brother's birthday is coming up on October 13th, and I want to make him a cake. I want to make him a 3d cake in the shape of a nose. It does not have to be too big, as I am making a different cake as the real cake. This one is purely for joke. I was thinking I could cut a wonder mold in half top to bottom and then carve it to look like a nose. Other than that, I am stuck. Don't really want a BCT, as I think the joke wouldn't be as funny. Any suggestions?

I think that the wonder mold would work, maybe even the mini wonder mold if you need it to be smaller.

I know...I'm not much help here but I think that your idea will work just great.

Thanks. I think I will stick with the big wondermold if that's the way I go. The whole joke is the big nose factor tapedshut.gif I can always just downsize the regular cake or better yet........LEFTOVERS!!!! icon_lol.gif

another question. If I cut the wondermold in half, do you think it would still stand up, or would I have to lay it down? It's not getting transported at all. I decorate on the same table that the cake will be served on.

I think that it would still stand up on its own. Try it, if it doesn't then lay it down and go from there!

PLEASE post your pic when it is done. I think that this is a great idea for a gag cake!! icon_lol.gif

Well, I made the cake and carved it. I won' finish it until Wednesday though and his birthday is Thursday. I was so hesitant about doing it, but I was staring at my mom's nose for inspiration, and i think they turned out well. here is the un-iced, carved nose. will Post the final pics after it's done!
