AI was issued a request to make the best flan ever but I don't have a recipe. And I need the world's most amazing recipe ever. Literally it needs to be a "died and gone to heaven, want to sleep on this flan, need to stuff my face with this flan forever" type of flan. Can anyone help me out and recommend any recipes?

AWhat type of flan are you looking for?? Im mexican so our flans are very much different from brazilian flan or french styled flan. We also have something called flan imposible, which is cake and flan baked together.

Aww, shoot, it wouldn't let me embed the video. It's from that movie, Envy when the flan arrived.
To the OP, personally, I'd just tell them I've never made flan and refer them to someone who knows how to make the most fabulous flan. Because they are expecting it to be the best ever and you've never even made any?

APreheat oven to 350
1 can evaporated milk 1 can condensed milk 6 egg yolks 1tbsp vanilla 1tbsp butter
Mix all ingredients in a blender
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt 1 cup of sugar until liquefied and golden in color. Carefully pour hot syrup into a 9 inch round glass baking dish, turning the dish to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Set aside.
Pour flan mixture into baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
Place the filled baking dish into a larger pan and add 1 inch of HOT water to the outer pan. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set.

AMexican flan. The requester is Mexican and that's what he'd prefer.

A@howsweet, the requester knows I haven't made any flan before. It's more like a challenge than just a request. But it's also something I'd like to try make.

Thanks for the recipe!

ALol well if he is mexican im sure he will love my moms recipe! Im not saying its the best bt its pretty darn good!
2 cans carnation evaporated milk 2 cans la lechera (brand name) condensed milk 6 whole eggs 1 tbs vanilla 2 cans reg whole milk, i use the same cans from the evaporated milk to measure the reg milk
Blend everything in a mixer, this makes a good amount so you might have to blend everything in half first. Set aside.
I like to do the dry method of melting the sugar, i first turn the stove to med and sit my pan on top, as it is slowily heating up little by little add a teaspoon oof sugar all around, you will see the sugar caramelizing so you can swirl the pan around for even coating, this shouldnt take no more than three minutes tops
Add the mix to your pan and bake at 350 for about one hour or until the knife comes out clean,
Personally i dont use a bain marie, i dont like when the flan is almost like jello texture. By baking it this way its has more texture and the juice is very tasty
