Hello all,
I have a KitchenAid Pro 450 Series 4-1/2-Quart Stand Mixer. Everything works fine, except I'm noticing that sometimes things on the very bottom of the bowl are not getting mixed thoroughly. This is my first KitchenAid mixer so I'm not sure if this is "normal." When I whip meringue and color the meringue, the bottom is still slightly white and I have to hand mix it to incorporate all of the coloring. When I make cupcakes, sometimes the creamed butter/sugar mix sits at the bottom after everything is incorporated and again I have to hand mix. It's not a large amount, a fairly small amount, but an amount that makes a difference in the batter nonetheless. The worst issue is when I'm making French Macarons using the Italian method, and I pour in the sugar syrup slowly while it is whipping, and then when it's done I take it out, and some of the sugar has crystallized and hardened on the bottom of the bowl! I usually scrape the meringue out leaving the sugar crystals behind (since they are hard by now anyways).
I've tried reading the manual and doing the "adjustment" underneath the spout but it's turned all the way already (can't go any lower). Is this normal or am I going to have to take it in to get serviced?
Thanks!

The "dime" adjustment that you do only works for one of the implements, and I'm not sure if it is the paddle or the whisk. You could Google it to be sure.
Liz
