I was hoping to make a starter for our anniversary of blue cheese, prosciutto ham, (fresh) figs, all grilled drizzled in honey. I’ve had it before and my oh really likes it so I thought it would be suitable but went to the supermarket last night and they don’t have figs anymore. Tried calling another large supermarket I could go to but they don’t have them either, the rest of the stores here are pretty small so if the two I have tried don’t have them, I can’t imagine the smaller ones will. Is there anything I could sub the fresh figs for? Leave them out or should I abandon the idea and go for a different starter?

Thank you for any help or suggestions!

How about dried figs - those are usually always available or fresh apricots? Those are out now where I live.

Good luck!
