How In The World Do I Replicate This (Marijuana Cake)?

... for the life of me, I cannot think of what technique to use to duplicate the buds. It almost appears to be some type of star tip, airbrushed, and sprinkled wit something or an orangish tint.
Help!

Also no expert, but I'd say that was NOT an iced cake. At least not the outside, anyway. Goodness knows what's behind all the "decor".
Brownies, maybe...? 
If you wanted to replicate that, I guess you could use a variety of star and leaf tips to get the same effect, then paint on the colour variations.
LOL! You know that old rule that says you shouldnt use your own stash for persoanl enjoyment...so i doubt they'd fork any over for me to use. And this cake is for a father who used to partake in the inhaling of the mellow fellow.
At first I thought that it was the real deal, but its perfectly cylinder, so most likely it is a cake. And I too thought that it was a combination of the star and leaf tip. I'll give it a test run and see if that'll do.

AThis is a little late but .. That's real marijuana, all of it. No cake. Experienced professional here. It's a very complex plant, it can be shaped many different ways, with pressure. The crystals on the plant are sticky. If you touch a growing plant, you would see. Soo sticky. This is a joke pic, as in "a stoner would love this kind of cake." Cause in realty street value that would be about $400-$600. Lol :) just wanted to put some input in! It would probably be impossible to replicate marijuana with cake. It's a weird hairy sticky plant .. Definitely wouldn't be realistic out of cake lol
