Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to make royal icing roses. I know how to make buttercream and fondant roses but I would like to learn how to make royal icing roses.

I don't use royal icing anymore ..... everything is made from buttercream...... but when I did do royal icing roses, the technique was the same as making BC roses.

So if your icing is to thin do you just add more powdered sugar to stiffen it up

you can try adding more sugar to stiffen your icing up, but it may not work. you may also try adding a bit more meringue powder as well...

you may already know this but I read in a wilton catalog that you should put parchment on your rose tip when making royal roses that way you can set them to dry without having to mess them up by having to remove them with the scissors ive never tried it personally because I only make BC roses but it sounds like a really neat idea.

Thanks for the info. I learned the hard way about putting a piece of parchment paper. For some reason I cant hardly use the scissors I drop them when I try to put them on the side of the cake. So now I let them dry enough to touch them without messing them up before I put them on the cake.
