Hi all,

How do you recommend I go about doing the bed head of this cake and the pillows? I have used pastillage for similar structures but never made pillows before. Would you all use pastillage for this or are there alternatives?

Are there templates online and do you guys use cake or brownies to make the pillow and then covere in fondant?

If this is at all helpful............ The pillows to me look like 2 perfect size rice krispie treats covered in fondant/gumpaste. IF you could do without having the headboard be edible I'd use cake boards covered in fondant. (just a suggestion)

Hmmm thanks. I like the idea of cake boards as the headerboard. I was going to make it out of pastillage. I don't have access to rice krispy treats here. What else do you recommend?

You can make it out of gumpaste or fondant, just add some tylose or gum-tex to it.

Thank you. I will do the gum paste for the pillows. As for the headerboard, it sounds way easier to sandwich cake boards and cover in fondant or gumpaste than make pastillage
