Sugar Cookies Vs. Shortbread Cookies For Decorated Cookies?

I am new to cookies and would love to decorated some with colorflow this year. What is your favorite cookies for decorating? Got a good recipe? Thank you for your help!! icon_biggrin.gif

I use NFSC recipe (found here) with different flavor variations. I love shortbread but too crumbly and flaky for decorated cookies plus shortbread taste better plain, allows the buttery flakiness shine thru.

Sugar cookies vs. shortbread for sure and ditto to what pattycakesnj says about shortbread.

I don't use the NFSC recipe but tons of people here give it great feedback.
